Who, how and when.
Who Orbit is built for, what actually happens in a session, and what it costs.
01 — Who
Is this for me?
The most useful place to start, because everything else only matters if the answer is yes.
In their own words
"I have so much potential and I am incredibly creative and talented, however I struggle to harness this due to my challenges with distraction, focus and concentration. When I really enjoy something, I can't stop working on it — but I don't have control over when this switches on.
I have so many strengths but I find it hard to apply my skills in learning environments, and this is impacting my self-confidence. I really love learning, but assignments and all of the organisational requirements are so overwhelming, and I often find myself feeling like I don't know where to start, which leads to me doing nothing at all.
I want to succeed but I feel like I'm failing. I just don't even know what I'm failing at, so I feel like I'm failing at everything."
Year 5 to university — and outliers welcome
Orbit is aimed primarily at students beginning at Year 5, up to university level. Any outliers are more than welcome to inquire based on their individual needs and circumstances.
Students who struggle to harness their creativity and potential because of difficulties with distraction, focus and concentration will benefit from Orbit's sessions — especially those who are finding it challenging to apply their skills in learning environments, and where that is starting to affect their confidence.
- Real potential that is hard to get out
- Focus that switches on — but not on demand
- Strengths that don’t always show up in the classroom
- Assignments that feel enormous before they begin
- Confidence taking the hit for all of it
Does this sound like you, or your child? If you answer yes — Orbit is for you.
02 — How
From first hello to end of term.
Orbit runs on a rhythm: a free start, weekly 1:1 sessions with written notes, and a free review at the end of every term.
Initial meeting and intake form 15 min · free
A relaxed conversation about what is working, what is not, and what you would like to change. You complete the client intake form beforehand so we can use the whole fifteen minutes on your student rather than on admin.
Weekly 1:1 sessions, online
One hour, one student, one coach. Sessions are built around executive functioning skills, taught through whatever the student has in front of them — an assignment, an exam block, a subject they are stuck in, or a subject they want pushed further. Specific academic focus is available in all subject areas.
Sessions run online over a secure video meeting platform. This contains a shared document and whiteboard that is open throughout, which the student has consistent access to both in and out of sessions. All you need is a device with a camera, microphone and a quiet space. A meeting link is sent ahead of every session, and no software purchase is required.
Academic work is based on the Australian Curriculum and available in all states, with syllabus-specific targeted learning outcomes focused in sessions.
Detailed session notes, every week
Written notes provided weekly, covering progress made, areas for future focus, and homework. Homework is always optional — it is there for the students who want it, not as a compliance exercise.
Or a holiday intensive
During school breaks, one-week and two-week intensive programs run instead of weekly sessions — 1:1, or in a small group of no more than three students of similar age and identified needs.
End of term review 15 min · free
One complimentary fifteen-minute review meeting at the end of each term, plus a detailed written progress report: an overview of progress made, and areas for future focus in the following term.
Inside the hour
A sample one-hour session.
Flexible, always — but this is the shape most sessions take.
Shared screen — session plan
- 00:00 · 05 Orbit check-inWhat landed this week? Which asteroids actually hit, and which ones did we deflect?
- 00:05 · 10 Review the week's planWhat got done, what slid, and why — without judgement. Self-monitoring is a skill, so we practise it out loud.
- 00:15 · 20 Skill focusOne executive functioning skill, taught explicitly. Breaking a task down, building a study plan, prioritising competing deadlines, or managing a specific distraction.
- 00:35 · 15 Apply it to real workThe skill goes straight onto a live assignment, upcoming assessment or subject area — support where it is needed, extension where it is wanted.
- 00:50 · 07 Plan the week aheadName the planets, forecast the asteroids, and decide in advance how each one gets handled — so they can be braced for rather than survived.
- 00:57 · 03 Close and confidenceName one thing that went well. Optimism primes us to do well — and it is how the star gets denser.

Victoria
PRIMARY TEACHER · M.ED EDUCATIONAL NEUROSCIENCE (STUDYING)
Me
From struggle to strength.
Our head coach Victoria is an experienced primary teacher, currently studying her Master of Educational Neuroscience. She hosts the initial consultation as well as ongoing sessions.
She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with students, because she is able to support them to develop valuable lifelong skills that she wishes she had been taught growing up. Victoria's own struggle with executive functioning skills throughout her childhood and teenage years has strengthened her into the educator that she is today.
Her ultimate purpose in her work is to develop confidence in her students — by encouraging them to see their incredible strengths, and equipping them with practical skills to effectively manage their challenges with self-compassion and resilience.
She brings extensive experience in online education and teaching, along with two years of 1:1 private online tutoring, so the online format is a deliberate choice rather than a compromise.
She also simply loves science — which is why the orbit model is not decoration here. Getting the physics right matters to her, and explaining to a student how their own brain is working is her favourite part of the job.

Fifteen minutes, no obligation. Bring your questions about fit, timing, subjects or cost — and we will map out what a stronger orbit could look like.
Please complete the intake form before your session. It means we can spend the 15 minutes talking about your student rather than collecting details. How your information is used is set out in our privacy notice.
